Dieter Arnold, Prof. Dr. (* 1936, Heidelberg) je nemecký egyptológ a archeológ, kurátor egyptského oddelenia Metropolitného múzea umenia v New Yorku. Venuje sa archeologickým vykopávkam v Egypte pre múzeum a vedie výskum staroegyptskej architektúry.[1]
Roku 1963 promoval na Univerzite v Míchove (LMU) s prácou Wandrelief und Raumfunktion in ägyptischen Tempeln des Neuen Reiches. Pracoval pre Nemecký archeologický inštitút (DAI) v Káhire na vykopávkach v Dahšúre, Dejr el-Bahrí a at-Tarífe. V rokoch 1979–1984 pôsobil ako profesor na Viedenskej univerzite. Dnes pracuje ako kurátor egyptského oddelenia pre newyorské Metropolitné múzeum a riadi jeho archeologické aktivity v Egypte. Spolupracuje so svojou manželkou Dorotheou, ktorá tiež pracuje pre múzeum ako predsedníčka nadácie Lily Acheson Wallace.
Dieter Arnold sa špecializuje na výskum architektúry starovekého Egypta. Riadi vykopávky Metropolitného múzea v Dahšúre a Lište.
