Cenu Grammy za celoživotný prínos udeľuje The Recording Academy umelcom ktorí počas svojho života majú kreatívny prínos s výnimočným umeleckým významom pre hudobný priemysel.[1]

Toto ocenenie sa odlišuje od Siene slávy Grammy, ktorá skôr vzdáva poctu špecifickým hudobným nahrávkam, než by oceňovala jednotlivcov a líši sa aj od ceny Grammy Trustees Award, ktorou sa oceňujú tí, ktorí v hudobnom priemysle neprispievajú ako umelci.
